Here are a few deer I shot this year. No big bucks here. I mainly shoot does because A. I'm a meat hunter and could care or less about horns, B. our buck to doe ratio is way out of whack with our wonderful DNR giving out 2 buck tags and limited doe tags.
So here are my kills, a shot of my hunting camp and a couple pics where I hunt because I had to go back the next day after a kill to get my knife that I left at the gut pile. :rolleyes:
Doe #1 was a good size deer. Perfect shot and didn't go far.

#2 was a little smaller but also a good shot and lots of blood.

#3 was about the same as #1 but the hit was high and spined him. He dropped like a back of rocks and I had to shoot him again. I thought it was a doe but due to fading light, did not see the spikes. Even in this pic, you can't see the spikes. Here he's hanging off my sauna. Shot him the day before rifle season and that was my last tag. Still stayed at camp for a couple days and had fun hanging out with my buds.

This is when me, my son and my dog had to go find my knife at my favorite hunting spot. The U.P. is all woods, no farmlands or fields and difficult to hunt. This is my secret spot with a natural funnel where deer travel to a large feeding area. Although baiting is allowed, I do not bait and loathe the practice.

My son is going to be a great hunter. Loves to climb trees and is a good shot with his longbow.

And finally, a shot of my humble little shack in the woods. It is on ten acres with 375 feet on a trout lake though. :D
