I'm particularly proud of this one due to the complexity of the small area of vitals involved.
I laid an estrus scent trail down on my walk in before light and just before 7am, I hear the steady gait of a deer trotting. I look up to see a buck coming in with it's nose to the ground and working the scent trail. The line he was taking was perfect and was going to give me a 20-22 yard shot. He passed behind two big trees and gave me a perfect opportunity to draw undetected. As he came into the opening, I made the mouth "mehh" and he stopped. I centered the pin, hit the trigger, and.....THWACK!!!! What the frig was that?????? I see the buck bound off with no arrow and no blood. I look back at the area where I shot and there it was. A center-punched birch tree. What a beauty!!!!!!
Try not to be too jealous boys. With enough practice, I'm sure you'll be able to fill your tree tags too.
