So right now I have the syn extreme xt, it is up for sale in the classifieds, if you are interested. I can't decide on the xl, or the GTO. I love the looks of the GTO, the riser is sweet and the speeds can not be beet. The specs of the xl are very very tempting though. I don't mind a longer bow, the brace is great and the speeds are pretty good too. If it had the same looking riser as the fire or GTO I think I would be sold on it. It will be used for hunting and 3d, so either should work...what should I get???

You are correct with on the Money part, if I had it they would both be ordered right now. I have thought about selling my Commander, but it shoots too nice to sell.

Thats a tough call since no one has shot or seen the GTO yet other than pictures. Its a little easier for me since I am left handed,I will be able to see and shoot them both in right hand before making a decision.Sometimes it does pay to be left handed!:D

I know of a guy that is going out to Walla Walla for a meeting and to shoot them, I should know by friday how the GTO shoots. I would say by monday, my order will be in...but it will be a tough one!!!

Do you shoot a longer BH bow better? Most people do. Don't be blinded by speed, think about the qualities that YOU like in a bow, the decision will be easy to make if you are honest with yourself. I voted for the XL, because I think it would be a great all around bow. I know that my vote just added to your confusion, because all other votes are for the GTO, but hey... I like to be different.

Being left handed may bite you this time. Elite has not yet decided if they will produce the GTO in a leftie, or not.

I thought your ALL about shooting the Best bow reguardless of brand loyalty,,, THen shoot the BEST,,, THE GTO and the Synergy XT will be the BEST for 2008 hands down,,, DO you deny this? Sell that junk Commander and buy a bow that reflects quality and performance .

Takum, I know you are a diehard Elite guy. I am all about shooting the best, and my commander feels sooooo good. It holds amazing, the after shot is great and it pounds x's. The only thing that I don't like about it is the center shot, but even sucked in closer to the riser it shoots like a dream. If I happen to buy the xl and like it better than the commander, then the commander will be gone...

see,, thats what I'm talking about,, Centershot, cam lean, customer service,, Limbs that loosen on a regular basis,, Too many parts and pieces for this bowyer to service,,,, I'll stick with Elite,, They have a quality product here,, Best of the best parts. What more could you ask for next to performance, and I believe ELite has already proven to be a winner in that arena....

I think you need to factor weight. You might shoot the Commander well because of how heavy it is. I know for me the reason I usually shoot longer bows better is because they are heavier and balance better. If you choose the GTO or even the XL you will probably have to fool around with stabilizers and maybe even some back bars to come up with a good balance after shooting the Commander. I like the Commander myself, but for me it is too heavey, by the time I stabalize it, I need a tripod to hold it up ;). To say it's a junk bow is silly, pay no attention to that. I hope we don't go the way of that other site and start bashing other brands. :(
From what I've read about the XT and the GTO they are pretty close in specs but the GTO being 10fps faster, it's gotta be in the cam. Yet some have said it draws smoother than the XT. What did you not like about the XT (pm me if you don't want to say on here) ?

I can't vote on this subject since I have been debating this ever since the GTO specs came out.
I am planning on heading to the archery shop tonight after work to try and force myself to make a decision, and put one of them on order.
At least with this, there is no wrong choice. They are both going to be sweet bows.

The commander has less cam lean than my synergy extreme, and the limbs have never loosened. I have never had a limb issue with any of my bowtechs. My tribute had well over 20,000 shots through it and still shot amazing when I sold it. The commander has around 5000 through it, still shoots like a dream. I have dealt with customer service one time, and it went great. I am not going to say that either company is better than the other, I think they are both great.

I will not enter into a brand bash. I still help both Elite and BowTech customers tune their bows. I won't discriminate against a person because of his choices. I do believe Elite is a company which is more responsive to it's customers and that is important. Try to talk to John Strasheim or Craig Yehl. But back to the question asked. You should be patient until you can shoot both bows, then you can make an informed decision.

I'm going with the XL.

This is killing me guys!!!
GTO
-I like the riser better
-The speeds are great
-Smaller and easier to get around in the woods
XL
-Longer, should be a better shooter
-More brace, which helps also
-very little reflex, which helps it even more
-Smoother draw, do to limb angles and less pre load
So, do I want a bow that all around is going to be a better shooter, or one that is smoking fast and looks a bit better in my eyes. I don't know what to do, they both are going to be good shooters, and from there they both have some great things going for them:eek::eek::eek:

I love the bow!!
I am selling it because the GTO is the exact same specs but 10fps faster, so why not sell the xt and get the GTO. On the other hand, before the GTO came out I was looking at the XL. I like longer bows, and it looks like a winner to me. So, I have no complaints at all about the xt, but if you read my name you will know why I am selling;)

I guess looks are more important to some than others. There would be no question for me, I would definately pick the one that I feel I would shoot better with over the one that I think looks "cooler". I obviously have not shot either one, but I am betting that either bow will shoot. Bottom line is if you shoot more accurately with a longer bow then go with the XL. If you shoot the same accuracy with a shorter bow then go with the extra speed of the GTO.
