Carbon Express Blue Streak ….Weight Forward / Dual Spine
The testing was conducted on my spine tester with a dial indictor.
In 2008/9 I tested the CX Hunter arrows and found essentially no weight forward but I did measure dual spine. They were not advertising dual spine in 2008/9.
Now today I measured CX Blue Streak 350 arrows.
Below are the updated results.
I found that the arrows were consistent in spine through the 12 arrows BUT I could find NO evidence of weight forward or dual spine. I have included pictures of the various setups and measurements. I had to post twice to get all the pictures shown. see Test Report-1 & 2
The arrows shoot great, I just could not measure anything that supports the claim of weight forward or dual spine.
Thanks
Joe

Thanks for confirming what I found a few weeks back Joe. I am glad we came to the same conclusion.

Hello
I first tested the camo hunters in 2008, they had dual spine but no weight forward, it now appears that neither one exists.
Keep up the good work, we need more archers examining products and sharing the test results.

Maybe the advertising isnt accurate about the features of this shaft.
But they fly great! :-)
I just bought another dozen yesterday.

They said you need to cut one inch from each end and you will see that the front is heavier, than the rear and if you look at the shaft you will notice the weave is different from the front to back, the front has a tighter weave and the rear looks to be larger, which is due to that there are two different size carbon threads being used. They also said that you need to measure the front third and back third only.If you are in doubt ,call Carbon Express your self:luck:

Not in doubt but what you described is how I did test the arrows. I cut the front and back equally then measured the shaft it is identical. I also tested the full length of the arrow. Same with the arrow spine, so why the weaves might be different that does not change the value of the spine.

I documented all my findings and sent them to Carbon Express...my reply from them states "Thank you Mr. Kurtz for taking the time to evaluate our shaft and this matter is being looked into".

Which to me reads yeah we know it doesn't exist but we are selling a ton of arrows at a high profit margin. Don't get me wrong the spine is extremely consistent from arrow to arrow. The only arrow I ever tested that is better is an ACC.

Weight forward technology. What for? Given is 10% FOC is a good balance build of arrow, this whether target or hunting. And just about any arrow built correctly with a 100 gr tip will give 10% FOC and usually a tad more. Depending on the archery event, 7% is acceptable.

Old Buck... Does that mean they'll give me some money back after burning 160bucks for a dozen of these bad boys?

Hello Takeum,
Money back is NOT going to happen, but maybe if you write to CX and make clear that you are displeased with their advertising they may change that.
They are fine shooting arrows but the features they promote I cannot find/measure via what I believe are my honest test procedures.
Thanks
Joe

Agree with you Joe, I am just happy you tested these also and found the same results.

Did you test the spine consistency across the arrow circumfrence. Is there a noticable spline? I shoot mayhems at the moment but are wondering if there are worth the extra expense. They seem to shoot really well but when I bareshaft tune I find myself still rotating nocks. I have a spline finder but its rather crude. Works well on cheap arrows though.

Would you recommend any cheaper alternatives to the mayhems?
