No place I'd rather be in the morning than in the turkey woods, rain or shine.

Gonna get some good rest tonight and be wide-eyed come the morning!

Good Luck everyone!

BE SAFE!

Well, opening day for me was one heck of a foggy morning with light drizzle.

I was on birds all day long.....unfortunately they were all jakes. I called 6 jakes in three separate times throughout the morning. All I can say is I sing the praises of ASAT camo. I had three birds at three yards and they never had a clue.

At least I was able to snap a few pics. I don't use a blind, so getting the pics proved a little tricky today, but here's a few okay ones.

All in all it was a good day in the turkey woods. I've had worse...that's for sure!

Went out a few hrs before work....... no birds... one lone gobble when some geese flew over head.. it was pretty wet though.... lots of fog.. may have held them back a little.

hunted tuesday with a friend and I had a bird answer once at 9:30 and I waited an hour and he didn't move. So i went to him, cut and yelped once and he answered 80 yds away!. he came in some thick stuff, I waited and took my best shot at 11:00, but missed! :confuzd:My first missed turkey ever.. oh well.. :kicku:Walked toward my buddy and saw 2 birds struttin in field behind him and he called them in and got one, a 15lb jake. 15 minutes after i got my shot. Good day that we got one but almost had two. goin sat, hope I can dodge the rain.

hunted sat in same area as tues. set up between talkin hens and a gobbler on roost. He responded to me and I called twice and he came struttin in to the 25 yd mark and the 6's is all he saw. 22 lb. 10inch beard with 1 1/4 spurs. Done by 6:15. feels great but real fast hunt. Got a big gobbler last year same deal.:freakjam:
