After looking at this press release I wonder which one of these will be the bow for 2008?

I am sticking with Elite mostly for one reason they use AMO standard for thier DL measurement. There are several companies that put out fast IBO speeds but thier bows are an inch longer than they advertise. That is an easy way to make a bow look faster. I dont know if HCA does that but I know Elite doesnt.

Elite all the way, much better bow!

I would have to shoot it. I didnt like the Iron Mace, maybe this one is better.
Ill stick with the best grip and performance of the Elite's. GTO for me.;)

Wow that thing really looks like an E-Force.

i know!!! thats what i was thinking..those cams look very similar to the k8 cams and the bow as a whole looks remotely similar to an elite(e-force)...wow lol

Looks like another Synergy wannabe to me,, THis time they are just copying the Extreme version with the old style SYnergy K8 cams,,,

I got an 07 Iron Mace and wasn't impressed at all. Especially regarding workmanship and finish.
Can't say if HCA eliminated some of the weak spots for the SpeedForce though.

I have an Xtreme XL on order and I'm sure it MUST be the better bow.

I'm leaning towards the GTO...... IF they will make it in lefty. I've heard that a lefty version is "up in the air". I know that HCA made Iron Maces last year in lefty, and didn't upcharge or anything stupid like that for them.

If Elite get's their act togther on the lefty GTO, I'll probably go with them.... time will tell.

This year has been the most exciting year for archery since I have been in the business, but my money goes to Elite. So many factors help me make such a simple decision. We all know the reasons, but my main reason is I go for the underdog. Elite is small compared to the others and they make a great product so I would much rather support them and help them grow. I wish I had the money to afford a Bowtech AB 82, HCA Speed-Force, Alpine Sabre, Martin Firecat, and the Elite GTO, but at this point in life I can only have one. I haven't seen another to compare with fit and finish of an Elite, so I will be a supporter as long as they keep up the great work.

I had an Iron Mace and yes it was a lot faster than my E-Force and E-500 and almost as fast as my APA Black Mamba, but the quality was not there...It was like holding a toy. I tried to tune that bow for over an hour and it just wound not tune correctly. When I pulled back at full draw the lower cam had a lot of lean to the left. Also a lot of shock on the let off. As far as Quality, Comfort, Speed, design you can NOT beat Elite bows..From there 06 line of bows to there 08's. I'm trading my Mamba for an 07 Synergy and I just purchased an 08 GTO. That will give me 6 Elite bows, now what does that say for Elite Archery...........

I too saw an IM...finish was not good to my eyes. Very unrefined.

GTO.....what could be better....nothing!

Ya have to shoot them and decide for yourself. I don't much care for HCA. I've been avoiding them since the 80's. But that's just me.

I was picking them up off the ground.... uh, I mean shooting them in the 80's! We used to call them the time bomb, because you never knew when it was about to explode.

This is only a joke, I am not bashing, but Tuskbuster probably knows what I am talking about. I had the Xcaliber's, and they were fast for the day, but you did have to pray it would make it through a 30 target course without going out of time, or breaking a limb.

Well from what ive seen from HCA im not impressed the iron mace was slower than my synergy not by much though the major thing i did not like was the amount of cam lean the mace had due to the roller cable guard this is a great idea but with binaries it causes cam lean.

Remember when they we advertising before the AMO show that their bow could be dry fired something like 1000 times....it went boom.....:D

I don't remember much about that summer... something to do with too much fiber glass to the head.

I used to carry not one, but two back up bows and some limbs, strings... well you get the idea.

Michael,
Whats your draw length?

Michael
11-27-2007, 10:32 PM
29 inches, but in those days, I tried to keep it shorter to avoid injury.

Again, I am just having some fun, not bashing HCA, but they did have a problem in those days.

I am pulling toward the XL but the GTO is hard to forget!

I have not made a definite decision yet either.... well, other than both.

I really don't know! Speed is good but how much is overkill? The XL is no slow poke!

Michael
11-28-2007, 12:09 AM
My honest opinion... anything over 288 is overkill, but it is fun trying to poke every last bit out of it.

288 huh? 225 will get'r done! But I would rather cartarize (msp) the wound!

I will be extremely ticked if I get another "Sorry no LH" emails from Elite like I did last year from Donna when she stated Elite was not making left Hand bow for 2007............finally got one thoughg in AUG.

225 will get it done, but he asked about overkill. Almost any speed will get it done, but in our speed freak world, everyone wants 350+. I have found that 280-290 range to be very effective for hunting and 3D.

350+ ha, I am more interested in the 426 satated in the thread. It will be interesting to see how the bows hold up now that Richard has taken over the company, their new dryfire test seemed to be pretty successful. I believe that the riser and limbs made 16,000 dryfires without problem they did replace some strings and axles in the meanwhile. I wish I could shoot both these offerings and make a decision based on that.

I finally had the chance to shoot a couple Elites today...six hour round trip, but man it was worth every mile! I've been wanting to take this trip for about a year, and just decided to get it done today.

Shot the Syn XT and the Aigil. Loved both bows, but the Syn XT is definitely in the lead. I plan on waiting another month or so, and shoot a couple more bows before I decide (GTO and HCA Speedforce). I am very impressed with the Elite line!

My only complaint that I had is that there doesn't seem to be much support in my neck of the woods for the elite bows. The shop I was at, really didn't know all the details that I expected they would. They seemed to be a little more interested in letting me try another brand that they carried, one that they knew a little more about.

I know that HCA has a pretty good rep that I have had the pleasure of talking to up in Nebraska. Does Elite have any company or promotional reps in Kansas? This is my only hangup at this point...I prefer to get more info and first hand knowledge of my bows before I buy them.

With the help available on the forum, you should be just fine, provided you can work on a bow yourself, or have a local archery shop to help out. If all else fails, I am always available by email or phone to assist you. If the problem is too big, the bow would have to go back to the factory for repairs, which is what any manufacturer would do anyway.

Well, seeing as how they are "undecided" on the Lefties, I will take that as "not for me" and look else where for an 08.....

Richard said LH Speed Force bows were due out a few weeks after the first batch of RH'rs and Bowtech told me end of MAR for the Airbornes...........

I just got off the phone with both of them and they told me Two Weeks...;)

You might go ahead and get a left handed firecat. From what I understand they are available now.
