View Full Version : Bow blind build
Tired of wasting money on popups for the ranchers livestock to destroy or worrying if there is a rattlesnake or coon inside while approaching in the dark.

Sean any particular reason you went with some cheap OSB that will fall apart once wet other than price? Made a nice solid frame and then went with OSB?

I have OSB on one blind I built 15 yrs ago. I did Thompson water seal it inside and out. Then have given it a couple coats of paint but still looks good. We have another that is about 10 yrs old and has a good coat of oil stain on it and still looks new. Both built out of 1x1 square tubing similar to above but set up for rifle hunting.
But I believe that is just Sean's sheathing still has 40 lb felt and Hardi Plank going on.

OSB because its what I had on hand. When it starts rotting I will reskin with tin.
I dont mind that it got jacked. It's getting me primed for antelope hunting this fall.

It will make a nice shanty once the ice is thick enough after the hunting season ends. Run a few tip ups and looks like you could easily have two holes for jigging. But I suppose the only ice it will see is a few cubes a glass of Canada's finest export,

Applications received after the application period shall not be accepted. For example, the nonresident application period for DEER is January 1 through March 15; so an application must be received sometime during those dates.

I am wondering if this is just for the draw? As I understand it you can still purchase the left-over extra tags that the state has. Not sure how it all works. Let me know if you want to slay some hogs maybe when it cools off Steve. There seems to be a surplus on the ranch.

Nice looking blind. You get an A for effort if nothing else. I'd say a 10 for style points as well!
Thanks guys, my sone did the camo on it without me knowing. I am gonna cover it Cristmas trees anyways so I guess the camo is a mute point anyways. Just a base poit to start with. ;)

Nice work vato.:thumb: ...just a suggestion, I would paint it the color of the field and skyline from the goats perspective. Also, id paint a decoy on it...and maybe a big pile of their favorite food.:noidea:
I like the decoy and feed idea. I may super impose some corn on it so I can shoot my deer in da face. :D
