I took a pair of them and soaked them over night in finger nail polish remover. They came out bare metal. They look great on a ninja Pulse.

Did your GT have speed buttons on it already? Did you add the speed studs and remove the speed buttons or are you using them both?

Sorry for all the questions.

Four large padded nocks weight the same as a speed stud. You can cover them with red shrink wrap (can get a pack with various colors at Wal Mart). The studs are OK but usually the end serving on the string prevents you getting them close enough to the cam to work.

Also, on another thread about whether speed studs work, someone asked about using them on single cam bows. Well, I put some on my Aigil (four on cam end, four inches from axle or about 1 1/2 inch from where cam and string meet) and got a 12fps gain, the largest gain of any bow!

I bought some and installed them. Did nothing for me. I did not remove the rubber bushings though. Tell me all the particulars of where and how you installed them. I am willing to try again.

I would remove the rubber (stock/speed nocks) and put the new ones in their place. between 4-4 1/2" from the center of the axles

they show that they are 31 grains each (per) typically i only use 18grains (3 black brass nocks covered with heat shrink.... MUCH cheaper) top and bottom.
to answer.... 1 top and 1 bottom

the stock rubber buttons are doing the same thing... adding weight to the string in a certain spot that the cam wants to accelerate the cam. ( kinda like the weight button in another brands cam)

Two,one at each end, mine are butted up against the serving, but just move them up and down until you find that sweet spot, just make sure they are even on both ends.:luck:

I have a G5 Quest Primal here now and they are 4.25 from the axle from the factory. Agree with Wassaw as a starting point.

so, you can achieve the desired effect by using just the standard brass nock and covering it with shrink wrap?

It's all about placement on the string. Put them just a bit too far one way or the other and speed will decrease. You have to experiment to find the sweet spot. The only way to determine the location of the sweet spot is to run your arrow through a chrono. I use Spider speed balls and get an additional 4-5 fps with them installed.

Here is how I have the Spyder speed balls installed on my Synergy. The bow has aftermarket Winner's Choice strings and cables that do not have speed nocks installed so I put the speed balls on and played with the positioning to get the most out of them. These are installed exactly 1 1/8" from the cam-to-string junction.

How do you place the G5 speed studs? I have found that the serving on the string at the cables is usually too long to get the studs close enough to the cam.
