Hello everyone I'm brand new to this site and have a 07 Synergy on the way. Can't wait to shoot her. :D I heard a rumor that the cams on the Synergy eat through strings. Is this true and if so are there other cams that would fix this?? Also I was wondering what arrows some of you were shooting? Thanks Joe

Hello Joe, I would have to say the "Rumor" is Not true. I own a Synergy and a E-500 and I never had a problem with either one "eating through strings". There was a while back an Issue with the Original Cams that came on the E-500`s where they were "supposedly" having some kind of issue similar to that staement. But since have Updated the E-500`s with the "new style" K8 Cams which both of my E-500`s have. As for my arrows I am a "BowHunter" and I use Easton A/C Superslims weighing in at 448 Grains and my E-500 was shooting them at 301FPS with a 30" Draw set at 67lbs. Best of luck and if you ever get a chance to nab a E-500 Don`t Hestitate as they are one of the Best Bows ever made. Best of luck,Ray:)

I have four Elites with no problems. As said earlier there were some issue, but Elite rectified them in 06.

eh, i had issues with the cams chewing up the serving on the cables. big time.

i think it mainly was vaportrail. I bought a aftermarket string, and after 2000 shots it shows the same ammount of wear on the servings as the stock string did after 25 shots

None here either. If you have a wear issue, check for flaws in the cam string track.

I got a Synergy a couple weeks ago. One of the finest bows I have ever shot. Wish I could afford a 2008 but I am gonna get a set of heavier limbs for this 2007.

Thanks for the input guys. My synergy should be here in a couple of days, can't wait. Also is there anything special that I need to do or look for when setting up and tuning? I more question: do the elites stay in-tune easily? thanks again joe

If you are going to use a fallaway rest do yourself a favor and don't buy one which attaches to the down cable. I've had great luck with the LimbDriver and many other Elite owners have also.

I have heard a couple different people say that now. I currently have a QAD LD rest. This would be one of the ones that would be a bear to set up? Same with Trophy Taker too, I take it? Thanks Joe

I have one E-Force with a QAD and one with a Limbdriver. I like them both equally well, both are good rests. My latest QAD HD on an E-500 was the easiest yet to set up, 1/8" nock high with arrow at Berger hole and laser centershot, just enough tension on the cord to cock the rest the last little bit and was shooting broadheads out to 50 yds.

Scablands, nice to hear. I'll probably give my QAD first and see how it works. What's the difference between the Ld and HD? Thanks Joe

Just a little bit of rubber damping on the end of the thumb wheel.

I see. I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks for sharing. Joe

I also use the QAD HD on my E-Force and I find that it doesn't create the same amount of tension as other rests such as the Kazaway or Trophy Taker. The rest is already cocked so all you're doing is putting a small amount of pressure on the cable to engage it so that it drops.

The problem you herd of with cables getting chewed was on the vapor trail cables they were getting serving seperation from poorly manufactured strings and cables if it has vapor trail on it i would get a new set.As far as a QAD i have set up several with QAD's with zero problemsi have 5 close friends with QAD LD's that i have set up on there synergies and mine and have never had tuning or clearance issues even with blazers and for accuracy i have split arrows out to 60yds with mine once the bow is in tune and time it should not come outta time unless your cables stretch with a quality set like neally this will not be an issue.Hope this helps...

I have to disagree with this statement. I installed a QAD LD on my Synergy and love it. Took me a bit of work with the help of Trophytakers advice to get it tuned in but man that thing works like a dream. I shot my first deer with it last night and worked flawlessly.

Glad to hear that and congrats on the deer. I'll be installing a QAD on my Fire. Will be my first drop away.
