Hog down AR Style

We were visiting friends at their ranch yesterday and zeroed in Cody's new Rock River Predator AR15. We did some fishing and caught enough bass and catfish for dinner.While we were cooking Cody headed off to a rifle blind in short pants and croc sandles to see if he could get a chance at a hog before dark. Well just before dark I get a call from an excited Cody who is saying I just had the best hunt of my life.He had a group of hogs cross on the way to the stand and was able to sneak in on them and cut them off.He said he had hogs and deer all over him.

We grab the mule and head out to help him and right when we go to enter the pasture he is in we notice a pair of croc sandles.Turns out the sandles were making too much noise and he proceeded barefoot the other 400 yrds.Think he is still pulling thorns out of his feet but is a happy camper.

Congrats to Cody. What you think about the Rock River Matt? I am looking at a Rock River and a Stag arms, trying to figure out which I want.

Jay his Rock River is nice he did a lot of research before getting this one.It has rails all over it for lights,laser and scope.It really shot nice the only thing I did not like was the flash suppressor.They have drilled it to also function as a muzzle break.I usually don't use ear protection if I am the one firing the rifle for just a few rounds.This thing rang my ears worse than my 300 rum.After my 1st shot I told him to get me some ear plugs. My Bushmaster is not going anywhere but if I was looking for a new one I would check out Rock River.Blake knows a lot more about these than I do might give him a shout.

I love it. It is the Rock River Elite Operator II. It is loud though.

RR 20" Varmint A4 with a 2 stage trigger and mine will have a 6 position stock. Going to top it with a Vortex 3.5-10 X 50 and let the kids shoot some stuff with it. Of course it will travel with me to the lease when they don't go. :)

This rifle was the best for the price that I could find. They are 5.56mm & .223, 1/9 Chrome Moly Wilson barrels, chromed bolt carrier group, RRA flip front sight gas block assembly, RRA dominator 2 sight EOTech mount, with the new RRA tactical crenelated muzzle break, front bottom and side sling swivels, Hand guard is a half quad free float mid length, RRA Operator Series engraving on the right side of the lower, Falcon Ergo Grip with storage, two stage triggers, extended trigger guard (for gloved shooting), Operator series 6 position stock with twin storage compartments, 3/4 moa @ 100 , star safety selectors, and two 30-round magazines, and a hard case.

You can pick these up new for around $1000, with all the goodies on it, it is around 1,600 value.

I read and looked around allot before a bought it. I wanted the .308 but after thinking about it I don't think I could of afforded to shoot it lol.

Jay I zeroed in 20" RR Varmint with the Eotech 4 dot and magnifier a couple months ago and was really impressed.Was able to produce 3/4" groups at a 100 yrs really surprised me. They have really tightened these rifles up and excellent accuracy is obtainable.
