Hey guys I am looking for a new treestand for this year. I am out in Oregon and climbers are pretty much out of the question unless it is just hung up and left, also I am leaning against a latter stand but not sure. I am looking for some suggestions on what is the best stand to go with. Thanks in advance.

I'm using the Lone Wolf with 4 climbing sticks and they work great.....

4 sticks get me up between 15 to 20ft depending on the tree.

Private land or public? How many stands will you be putting up?

Check out Muddy Outdoors. I love the muddy sticks. Its a alternative to Lone Wolf, not that they are a bad product.

This past year I tried out ol'man tree stands and I really liked them. There kind of heavy so if your carrying your stands in and out a lot I wouldn't suggest them but other then that there excellent. Extremely quite and very comfortable, the comfort tec seats work great. I went with this one and will be buying some more for next season.

X2. I love my lone wolf hangon. Better portability, higher accesibility, quick and easy, light, and my favorite part... No longer do i have to look for the straighest tree possible like a climber but now i find myself looking for the most winding and highest tree i can get a stand on :woohoo: Best investment ive ever made. I put up and take it down every hunt and for a hangon to be that quick easy and portable is truely a huge advantage. IMHO.

Thanks everyone for the info. I was also looking at one of the Gorilla's

http://www.gorillatreestands.com/pro-series-king-kong-hx

I will be hunting on public land, and no I will not tell you where. It is about a five mile hike in. I can also get a bit of a deal on these ones so I was wondering what people think.

Looks like a nice stand but i would not want to carry a 25 lb stand 5 miles into the woods. the silverback series are much lighter. just something to consider.

I agree... thats one of the reasons I like the Lone Wolf, it's only 11lbs. The second reason is the solid platform( http://www.lonewolfstands.com/lone-wolf-solution.aspx ).
Third reason is what weaver2307 said, with the sticks you can put the stand in any tree you want... I got sick of looking for "that" tree and ending making a longer shot for myself.

Millenium. No other stand comes close IMO when your talking about comfort. Also, they are pretty light and with a good set of pack straps they are really easy to carry. You can buy as many brackets as you want and hang/lock them on different trees. You just carry the stand in and set it in the bracket and be done. I won't use anything else.

I am a summit guy when it comes to climbers. They are all day stands. I recently bought a ladder stand that I thought I could sit in all day. And I was right. The big game titan was the ticket. Now, there isn't a ladder stand that is portable so a 5 mile hike is out of the question. I hunt gorilla hang ons but I really hate hang ons because I have about a 4 hour window before I lose my mind. Any suggestions on an all day hang on would be terrific!!! Lets here it.

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner folks!

You can get a Millennium for $200 with free shipping and a base. Buy 3 more bases for about $100 shipped and you now have $300 invested in 4 possible stand sites. That averages out to be about $75 per location. You WILL NOT find another stand of that quality and comfort for $75.

Lone Wolf Alpha and Elite. The Elite is like sitting in a Caddy.

I use a lone wolf alpha and a loggy bayou legend. Both are under 14#, & pack in like a dream. The loggy is all-day comfortable, has a bigger platform, and adjusts to off level situations while up in the tree. Most often, for shorter hunts or when I'm hiking in a good ways I nearly always use the alpha. Really love both...

Sorry, my Loggy is 16#... But worth every ounce.

I don't like stands that stay in one place more than 2 sits. An old buck will not tolerate human scent. Use a climber and move frequently and you will kill big bucks Alot!! I use an Open Summit stand for archery, very light and I hike many miles to my spots in Ohio. There's been more than one occasion that going to or from an area i see sign that show's a buck i'm after, or another big buck has moved in. I adapt to the wind and climb a tree and either kill a great buck or pass on a nice buck knowing he'll be around next year. Sometimes you need to make your luck. I learned this years ago by a wise old bowhunter that has well over 20 Pope and Young bucks to his credit. many of my largest bucks were taken in an area I wasn't planning to hunt.

I totally agree. I rarely, if ever, hunt the same stand more than a couple of times in an entire season, and even then, only when the conditions are absolutely perfect. I pack my stand in (and out) every day. I prefer to stay mobile and flexible to changing conditions, and sometimes will even move my stand 30-40 yards right in the middle of a hunt. Flexibility, and mobility, pay off big time!

Did Loggy Bayou go out of business? Yet another victim of the "recession"? I can't find their website anymore...

It would appear that Loggy Bayou is in fact out of business. Their website is gone, and their phone is disconnected.
