View Full Version : Extreme XT Speeds

Finally got around to do some tuning on my new Ext XT so I figured I'd throw some thru the chrono as this should be another man law thing required :D

60.6# - 29.1" DL - 80% let off - 398.1 grain arrow

275.5 - 275.4 - 275.5

Now I have a 28.5" mod on to get the let off and valley I am comfy with. Kevin and I had a lengthy conversation as my bow came with 29" mods and it was 1/2" too long. So instead of setting it like he does, I set it like I do.

Oops.....now I have to take some pics ;)

Let us know what the chrono says when the 28.5 mod is set up.Very interested.

Dang Jerry, didn't recognize you with only 4 posts.;) How's the draw on the new one compared to the 1st generation Syn.

It is more even than the Synergy rather than uphill and into the valley. If I was any good at Photoshop, I'd do a draw force curve.

I got some draw force curve pics to illustrate how I feel the difference is. The Synergy is actual and the Synergy XT is from another bow and how I think it is. I was going to put it on my draw board and chart the new XT but used the keyboard instead :D

Is this for the Synergy XT or the Extreme XL? I was just doing some calculations and if it is for the Synergy XT I would have expected it to be about 10 FPS faster? Am I way off?

I shoot a 30 inch draw will I be able to break the 325 mark with a 400 grain arrow with this bow?

This is for the XT. I haven't done any tinkering due to it being hunting season but I did take the time to chrono it as I knew people would be interested. As I said above, I set the bow up different than Kevin does and that might account for some lost fps.
Also, I would like to compare my chrono with someone else's to make sure mine is accurate.

I doubt it unless you shoot with say for example a 65% let off. Kevin would be able to answer that better than me.

O.K. Thanks for the reply. I was not nit picking just curious how close the IBO ratings are to actual speed.

Yes, Elite has a bow that shoots over 325 fps @ 70# 30" draw with a 400 grain arrow, you just might have to wait about 10-20 days for it to ship.
