Can anyone give me some of Elite's history? When did they start, who started it?????
I believe Rex and Terry somehow conceived a child, who had talent that surpassed anything they had come up with or patented up to that point. However the child was a bit of a rebel, so they adopted Jake and Joel, who limited themselves to what was available. This rebel child continued to push the envelope and developed his own company, along with his wife in 2006...I am no sure if this true, but I believe this is what I read over on AT....

Im sure that if you do a little searching on Archerytalk you will find more out then you want to. You could be opening a can of worms here. If I knew the true and whole story I would let you know. But, I cant say what is fact or fiction. I just shoot there bows because I love how they shoot.

It would be nice if they had a little introduction to how Elite got it's start. I don't really care about all the drama that is attached to the subject. I for one am just greatful they are here. Kevin truly is a genius in his designs, they not only function beautifully but are sexy as **** to look at. Elite is here to stay

From what i have gathered from several post from AT I know not a reliable source for info but here it goes.Kevin Strothers was bowtechs cheif designer when he met&married kate bowtech fired him because she worked for her grandfathers company Martin Archery so Kevin an Kate started there own company which is rocking the already shakey sales of bowtech bows lol......One little trivia fact what does K8 on the synergy cams stand for ..............................KATE ....OK thats all i got lol. There has been rumors on AT that Elite has changed hands but Kevin is still the head designer prolly not true never know i 2 would like to hear the truth in how the company got started and were it stands.

I have never met Kevin personally & the only interactions that I have had with him are through this forum & personal pm's & from everything that I have read & seen on here & AT have helped me to come to my own conclusion. He is highly motivated to be the best bow designer out there & in my opinion he is! The bows tell the story, plain & simple..... Whatever the real story is of the bowtech era has no bearing on what he has accomplished since then & I am personally very happy with the outcome. Elite Archery has surpassed bowtech in bow design, craftmanship, & customer service. At the end of the day that is all that matters to me!:strong:

Well said. tho comparing the two almost seems unfair. Like comparing a pinto to a hummer or ferrari (bowtech being the pinto).

Thanks guys, I did hear about the Bowtech saga and agree that that is in the past. i am just glad to hear that Kevin wasn't fired because he was responsible for some of the glitches that Bowtech faced at one time....... Glad we are supporting the right guy!
My intention was not to stir the pot, but it's just cool to know the heritage of these super machines that we shoot.....

What I understand is that Kevin was the co=founder and cheif designer of Bowtec. yes he did marry Kate who was at the time a stepdaughter of Terry Martin and the Martin Girl. He had Bowtec Buy him out . moved here to Walla Walla and Kate started Elite in 2006 with Kevin designing the bows. My other half worked for them then.

I can say this, I really feel that BowTech lost an AWESOME Person when they lost Kevin. Their loss is his gain.

That sounds about right....but I believe J2 Archery bought Elite sometime after the Bowtech lawsuit.

you know what
it might be
but if a company was born out of personal business
that needs to be made clear
IE: for personal reasons i started this company
we arent asking to know everything
we just want to know the beginning of Elite
the beginning of our fave bow company

I thought it was a good thread idea! People who visit often here, members, or guests would probably like to know this answer too.
IMO its important to be curious where a company stands before we invest our money into their equipment. The support on this forum is amazing, and some of the wait times on bows that I have saw, I think Elite will be around for long, long time.
