That would have scared the krap out of me if I was standing close.... glad I shot Friday.... How do you know when a bearing is going out?? Little play in the cam??

it was my own stupidity anyway, on thursday night my bow was getting really loud and you could acually hear the bearings rattling when you would hit the limb with your hand, but it was shooting the best it ever had 2" groups at 50 yards, so i took a chance and didnt tear it down.i do beleave some people were nervous shooting beside me because it sounded like a shotgun going off every shot, but it still was shooting great,on target 32 it was obvious top idler wheel started leaning tremendously and the bow started throwing arrows about 11"left and stayed that way all way to target 40,owell it was a chance i took and just didnt work out.shot it threw paper this morning and it just about ripped it down,i replaced bearings in the top and bottom and its right back on now.o well there is always next year!

Well that sucks..... you should have plenty of time by next year.. or this years national triple crown... I'll be hitting all 3 of them. Since you have had some experience with bearing replacement... I was wondering on my '07 Synergy, I have a very very slight play in my lower cam when I rest the bow on my thigh while glassing the target... I can also get a little movement if I push on the cam... and also the top one.. seems it goes back to my timing marks I have on the cam though... just thought I'd ask.
I shot SPM with it on Friday.... I ended up 6th 405 with 17 11's.... taking a 8 on the chip shot beaver didn't help....
I didn't think it was too bad... considering I've only put a open setup on my bow for the last 3 weeks.

i know what your talking about with the cam moving on your leg they all do it nothing to worry about, but take the pressure off the limbs and wiggle your cams side to side, you will have some movement but it should be very little,if you can move your cams "left to right very easy or one cam just feels more sloppy than the other i would replace the bearings.if you can move yoiur cams up and down with the pressure off they defanetly need replaced.i normally replace the bearings in my hunting bow 1 time a year, and on my target bow 2 to 3 times a year, not that they need it but bearings dont cost that much to replace, and i think its just good maintanence.should have taken my own advice for the bow i shot over the weekend.

I put my bow in my press and everything still felt real real tight.... so I guess I really don't have a problem.... or maybe I am just wanting to get a GTO.... I talked to a buddy who is a pretty good bow tech and he said sometimes that movement is @ the limb pockets....
