We went out this morning in san francisco bay and popped ducks. I have not been able to hunt ducks for a couple of years. It sure feels great to pop some caps and share some laughs with some good friends.:machinegun:

I've got a buddy that keeps trying to get me out of the treestand to duck/goose hunt.
My comment was "When those feathery :censored2:ers grow antlers I'll start killing them"
But he's almost got me talked into it.

havent been in yrs.
but have plans already this year!! cant wait
Duck hunting a blast. I dont know what to do with them afterwards but shooting them with a decoy spread and someone that can call is a hoot.
What do you do with ducks that you've shot? I have tried cooking them a few different ways and they all tasted like crap.

The only way I like them is marinating it zesty italian for a while then put a slice of jalepno in the middle and wrap the whole thing with bacon and throw it on the grill. It aint bad at all that way. Every other way I've tried it sucked worse than vhunters 2010 bowseason :D

not many ducks this year so far around here, very little water. in regards to recipe for ducks we breast them out, and put some game tame on them and let marinate for minimum of 1hr or if possible let sit for 24 hours. if marinating for short period of time be sure and rub the marinate into the meat, before cooking wrap in bacon and then put on grill, will taste very, very good with no wild game taste.

I am a diehard waterfowl hunter but I also deer/bowhunt. Benefits of deer hunting......the excitement is second to none, the meat is tasty, and you have plenty of alone time (I hunt from a treestand). The benfits of waterfowl hunting......hang out with buddies, breakfast in the blind or pit, more action, and easy cleaning.
When cooking waterfowl...........when you think it needs to be cooked a little more......it's done. If you over-cook it.......might as well eat a baseball glove. Marinate, marinate, marinate.......

I have a recipe I use for waterfowl I think you guys will like, actually I use it with deer too. I slice duck or goose breasts in half (long ways) so they are thin. I take bananna or pepperinci peppers (cut in half), I spread philly cream cheese in the peppers, wrap duck/goose/deer/whatever around peppers, then wrap bacon around wild game. I season everything with favorite seasoning, I tooth pick everything together. I grill (preferred) or bake wrapped bacon/wild game/peppers on 375-400 (oven) or until done to taste.
It's awesome eating!

I am also a huge duck hunter. I never bow hunted due to my love of duck hunting but I gave in (again) 6 years ago.

We killed 12 mallards an 3 woodducks today on the flooded Ohio River today! Snow, sleet and drizzle made for a real ducky day! No Geese tho that sucks but they will get it too!
Wish I had a duck hunting connection still. I think the guy I used to go with is either dead from drugs or in prison because of drugs. Either way I wouldnt hunt with him again.

Duck hunting was the reason I started bowhunting. I could be tagged out on deer by the time duck season started. Teal in September is a blast here as long as you can stay away from the mosquitoes.
