I'm so proud of my Son!!!

This weekend, TexasCanesFan and his son, Cousin, myself and my son went to the deer lease to make final preps for the upcoming deer season. Lots of work to be done but we made sure to be back at camp by 5pm so we could change and head out to one of the tanks to do some Dove hunting. My son had only shot a shotgun once before at some clay's and maybe 6 shots total. I gave him my pump 12 gauge and he had a blast. The first evening he shot 33 shells and actually killed 4 birds. The 2nd evening the birds didn't cooperate much but he got 2 out of 5 shells fired and actually made good on his first shot of the day bringing down a dove. What a great time it was just being out there with him and seeing the smile on his face (through his braces LOL) Not bad for a 13 year old. I think he is hooked on another form of hunting:2thunbs::2thunbs:

Awesome Jeff! Glad yall had a good time and made some memories. That dove hunting sure is fun. Actually got to get away and go out Saturday night, think we bagged about 18 or so between 3 of us. Not sure if I will get the time or find another place to go before the season is over. Im sure your son's shooting will come along soon and he will be outshooting you!

Yeah as Meat is getting older, he's starting to shoot several of my guns and taking them over LOL. I just stood back and watched him shoot several times and saw the recoil of the 12 gauge on his shoulder. He never complained or said it hurt. He was raring to go back and do it all again the next day. And I was hoping he would want to help with a little hog control but he was digging that 870 for sure LOLOLOLOL.

Well Cousin is basically a brother to me, so hopefully I am building those memories for my son.

My son is 6 and this was his 1st dove hunt.

IT was a fun time had by all!!!!! I really enjoyed hunting with them youngens. And Jeff, those bulls are just big hamburgers! Nothing to be afraid of Ha!!!!!!
