How long before Elite cares to be on the podium with youth? I can honestly say that this is the 2nd year they lost out on the shorter draw/lighter bow market. Looks like my oldest has to wait another couple years before he can take an Elite to 1st. Like he has done with his Bear, for the SECOND year in a row. Congrats to my son Mitchell for his good shooting this weekend at the MSAA. 1st again, wish it was an Elite he was holding! Really though, just trying to push Elite to get it out there.

I agree last year I bought my daughter a new bow and again this year (PSE) she does not understand why Daddy has 6 Elites , Mommy has 1, Brother has 1 and she does not.

Congrats to Mitchell. We had a really good weekend. I would love to see elite get involved with the youth. Start them young and they will probably grow into long term customers

What will it take? A few more years of steady buisness IMHO, as much as I'd like to see Elite do that too, also IMHO the design and investment costs far outweigh the returns in that particular market and only companies with years of successfull manufacturing find themselves in a position to do that.

I see a Z-28 ata size bow with cuda style cams, shorter brace height via shorter, lower weight limbs, they would have it. It doesn't need to go down to 10 inch draw, 10 lbs. A good in between bow, for the draw length challenged, that are up and coming future of Elite.

design costs? bows are not that complex.
athens is putting out a youth bow, they havent been around forever. Elite doesn't need an entire lineup of youth bows, just one. I would bet diamonds #1 bow would be a razer edge, the demand is there.

I think I may know a couple of young uns that would do some testing! All they would need is some shorter limbs on the Z, of course with Cuda's, and down the road, sell them limbs and cams to provide a full size adult bow. Couldn't it be that simple? Or am I way off base? To keep the cost down, they wouldn't need to be Barnesdale. Or keep them, and provide a quality bow for the ELITE archers that demand the quality.

My guess is our favorite little bow company is running itself ragged trying to meet the overwhelming demands the 2010 products are placing on it. It wouldn't make sense to overload themselves at this point in time. As with most things in life, you have to pick your battles. With time, hopefully Elite will have an opportunity to delight our younger generation too.
