For 2010, BowTech put out the Destroyer. It appears there's an issue with the new FLX guard doo-hickey. Here's the thread on AT. See post #11 for a picture.

Of course, this is causing yet another flame war on AT.

You asked for it, I'll deliver! How about a different shot than the normal one?

Imagine that more drama on AT w/ Bowtech....
History repeats itself. It seems to me that this is a string derailment problem. The same problem the X-force and Monster had. My guess is people are drawing them with fingers and its not ending so well. My $0.02.

It rerally amazes me how it is always someone elses fault. It is not a design issue ever with Bowtech. They said the limb issue was from peressing wrong and now it is the shooter torquing the bow. Come on.

In their defense, it certainly could be these things (torque/pressing). But at the same time, they should know these things happen and engineer a product that can withstand some of these normal stresses and not break. It's called being robust, and it seems that's where they are falling down over and over again.

Not sure why anyone in the archery industry would try to defend an issue no other companies seem to have. Every company can have an issue from time to time and most fully understand that but when it happens over and over for one company the pattern will eventually kill their sales even for the Kool Aide drinkers.
I never claimed to be defending them. I've never even owned a BT before. I was just giving my theory on this new issue. My take is that strings are derailing and that sudden shift of force to the cables is causing the flex guard to snap. BT should be concerned about this, absolutely. I'm glad I don't have to worry about all that :censored2: with my Elite.
BTW Smeagol seeing Precious never gets old.:thumb:

It more an observation than anything. I've owned 2 BTs (a General and a Sentinel), but neither one stayed with me very long. They seem to have a good loyal following, so there must be something redeeming about their bows, but on the same token, they seem intent on shooting themselves in the foot each year.
Oh well, I have my Elites + one other mystery bow, so I am a happy camper.

To be honest with you, I've heard it once or twice! But, thanks again for being so kind!
She is easy on the eyes and a pleasure to shoot! Elite has got a great line of bows for 2010. Hopefully folks will have an opportunity to shoot (...and own) one ...or more! :)

You guys suppose the owners are tightening the bolt to the flex guard thing?
I seen where it was posted doing so will cause them to break. And there seems to just be a few problems so far.
I know one thing, Bowtech didnt need something like this to happen. I hope they figure out a fix.

In my view anything in the archery industry that requires a recall as they had with the General is a black eye for all manufacturers. Once the government gets involved anywhere the whole industry could be watched or even worse have government mandated requirements. That is NOT good for anyone including the consumer. Just wish they could get it right the first time.
