Take some Benadryl and rub some hydrocortisone on those bumps. The swelling should go right down.

Can't help it I wasn't blessed with huge mitts for hands! They are fair size I just have my fingers folded inside my thumbs.
Haha Dusty I almost fell off the couch with that comment, loved it.

Put 550lbs on the weight bar and show what those guns do! Bench Press!
Biceps are called the pretty muscle because they dont really do a **** thing. Your triceps and fore arms do most the work in your arms.
Actually you might be surprised to know the hands are full of muscle. Best arm wrestlers in the world have double tendon in there hands.
Just a few tips. Nice guns those.

Shrively ol' man still attempts to pull 70lbs. His strings are stretched out so his bows really only max out at about 60lbs, but in his head its 70 so I just let it fly.

Not necessarily more mass, but more strength within the muscle fibers.
Mass comes in the kitchen. Hints the saying: Stronger in the Gym, Bigger in the Kitchen.

Small glutes psh... I tend to call them diminished but that only happens once you reach age 50 in my family. There are plenty of glutes to go around! Ill have to see if I can check my Dad out of the nursing home, they might be having bingo that night. Its kind of a big deal!:wheelchair:

My HS FB coach used to tell us to stand in a doorway and push againest the frame with the backs of our hand while our arms were down at our sides. He said do it until you cant anymore. He said that was a great way to get bigger and stronger fast. And it worked. After doing it let your arms dangle and watch what happens....

So lots of Protein????
Just eating right in your diet in general is where to start. 1-2 grams of protein per pound of body weight. Everything will depend on the person. I try to stay at 300-400 grams of clean carbs, like sweet potatoes, whole grains/wheat, brown/white rice mixture. Keep fat to a minimum. Anything with saturated fat do away with, especially anything that says it has hydrogenated oil in it of any kind. And hit those veggies, I go with brocoli, okra, and squash. If you have a clean diet your muscles will grow when you workout.
Strength side of it, I would recommend taking the first week to build up some endurance doing lower weight higher reps with less rest between sets. Different types of rows are great for shooting your bow as you need stronger back muscles. Starting week 2 do some higher weight with lowers reps in a range of 5-6. I like to make my last set either a negative set, or a drop set all the way to a burnout. Just keep the routine changing dont always do the same exercises each week and split up the routine, full body workouts are good but more so for just staying in shape not so much muscle building.
DB sent me a great workout routine that he used.
I have some of my own as well if any of yall are interested, but you can find a lot on the internet as well. The key is to turn consistency into monotony.

Why is that? Do the muscles become immune in some way?

You havent heard of P90X come on man! LoL
Muscle fibers get used to the same exercise/weight/routine and are not triggered to have to grow because they can still perform the desired amount/routine and adapt. Keep' em guessing or they dont keep growing.
eweese18
12-30-2009, 10:41 PM
Dusty you can get plenty of protein in just 4 meals a day. Start with a good breakfast with 40-50 grams. Then the rest of the day you can get it in with say a chicken breast, small steak, stacking meat on your sandwich, protein shakes or whatever. I go through a ridiculous amount of eggs because they are cheap and the best protein for you. Chicken breasts as well.

I did P90X for a couple of months. That freaking thing will work your butt off!! I may start it back or use some of it and some of my own routine. I am definitely getting back to a good diet. I need to nock off 30lbs or so.

Try cutting your carbs down to 200 grams a day if youre eating a lot of carbs. Make sure they come from whole grains/wheat though. Few weeks and you should be seeing some change.
