Hey,, Make your own STS for around $13.00

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys,, For all you out there that don't care to pay that premium price for an STS or a MeanV CSS,, Try making your own... THis works on most bows out there as long as they don't have a brace height of less then 6" If you bow is less then 6" brace height, you'll need a different type of rod by Saunders called a Z-Rod,,,
Anyway, First thing you'll do is buy yourself a Cobra Cable Rod from most sporting goods store such as Eagle Archery.com for around $8-$9 bucks,,, Then buy a stopper from Coolhandluke or MeanV, or even STS guys who mainly all use the Bowjax stuff. I find that Coolhandluke doesn't mind selling his at a descent price,,, great product as well and really quiet,,, anyway,, THis is what you'll have to do,
Measure from the hole in the back of your riser, to your string,, That's it! THat will be your measurement ,,,minus - 1/2" approx for your stopper that you'll be installing,, SO measure twice, cut once,,, Entire project shouldn't cost you more then $13-15 bucks,, The Cobra cable rod is already pre powder coated and all you do is cut it with either a hack saw or a mini chop saw as I do with lots of cutting oil,, {aluminum likes to bind if not,},, sand the end when your done cutting so it dopesn't cut through the stopper,,,, add a Bowjax cable rod dampner if you really wanna be cool and maybe even send it out to have it camo matched for your brand bows camo,,, It's all what you want to do with it,, THese things work great,, Don't let anyone tell you different,, I have made over 75 of these things without 1 failure,,, Pm me if you have any questions,,,,here's a picture of your end result,, Takes approximately 10 minutes to make,, LOL

It doesn't show up very well but if you look at the top bow in this pic you can see one that I made a few years ago from an old Martin adjustable cable guard and one of the original Sims limbsavers. I cut the cable guard to length and drilled a hole in the limbsaver just small enough to friction fit on the end. I have since replaced the limbsaver with a Bucks N' Ducks EDS stopper.

LOL AA,, perhaops you though of starting that design,, But MeanV took it over in the sales world,, Maybe you should redesign it and sell some,,,, Everyone wants steel these days,, I think the Aluminum works great,,,,
