I saw a guy at the gas station and he had "HB Field Staff" (Heartland Bowhunter) on the back window of his truck. So naturally i asked him how his season was going. We talked about the show a little and BSed. After some conversation i asked him if he'd ever shot an Elite Archery bow that the HB guys shoot. He said he hadn't. So i told him about my Z28 and what a great shooter it was. I also asked him where he was from and he said "Welch Oklahoma". I told him to stop by Drop Tine Archery in Bartlett and shoot one. I also told him to take some coin because he'd probably leave with one.

Now that's a word, amazing what you can use in a conversation. I was wrote up at work and accused by others for using words they did not understand to make them feel stupid and uneducated. At lease t that is what they told me, so careful on what words you choose to use as they may get you in trouble.:)

When being written-up, did you respond by saying, "...only a knuckle-draggin' mouth-breather would write me up for using BIG words."?

Good job, nice word, not taking anything away from what you did Jaben, but since 2006 that's how us "old timer's rolled" no marketing just word of mouth advertising and defending what we were shooting... Good job Jaben and I have hunted in places if you used that word you would probably be in a fist fight , some under edumacated rednecks take offense to words they don't undersatand ....LOL

Seriously? Wow. I don't even know why they teach English in school these days - most don't use it correctly. And now it seams that when a person does use it correctly, that person is it. That's a shame.
May I ask, what exactly did you say?
Sorry Jaben, I didn't mean to steal your thunder - great job promoting Elite. We appreciate it very much!

I was talking in a group and as such am not sure which had reported me. I was talking about a salesman that had a predilection for always underbidding jobs to get work without taking into consideration the potential tertiary recovery issues that we may encounter. Or something to that effect. Some of the people that work in the oilfield do not always have the greatest of educations. He thought I was putting him down and trying to keep him out of the conversation.
I did highlight the words that they said he had problems with. There was nothing said negatively.

I am offended! Please ban 72! J/K!! :)
That's pretty funny. Too bad people get bent when that happens. I like to wallow in my ignorance, it typically means less work for me!

I try to speak to those I am around in a manner befitting their education/understanding. I guess I missed the mark where I am, or at least where some of the guys are from. I find that my loquacity in groups of people gets me into trouble at times. But thanks for looking out for me.

Wow...when I don't know what a word means I follow Mom's advice and "look it up." Usually I call it a good day when I learn something. I can understand if you were actually talking down to someone, but it doesn't seem that way at all. Hummm.....interesting.

It really is a shame that this country has come to this point, if I don't know a word I WILL look it up and you won't get me twice. In today's society you have to be so careful not to offend the dumba**.
Apologies offered in advance.

If you guys think it's bad now, wait until the present administration requires us to start speaking in partial Ebonics, a now culturally recognized language! :jaw:

Yea, it's too quiet around here lately. Let's see, what controversy can we stir up...here's the quintessential list:
1. Is Elite going to use Barnsdale limbs? I heard they aren't!
2. Elite doesn't have a right to use binary cams, they're going to get sued by Darton!
3. W/O KS, I give Elite 6 months!
4. Elite hates lefties (well, who doesn't? Duh!)
5. My GT500 needs <insert here> to make it shoot bullet holes. Possible choices to insert: shims, a limb-swap, a new cable-slide.
What have I missed?
