Killed this nice little 8 point Sat morning at 8:30. He was with a spike and a 4 point I let them pass and stopped him at 20 yards. I hunted Thur and Friday and only saw 2 deer so movement is a little slow but not to bad. I do think the deer are backing off the food plots and have discovered the acorns, at least where I hunt. GTO 70# 27 inch draw Axis Nanos 100gr Slick Trick Barely made it 50 yards

Your correct deer are hitting the acorns. Lots of food source this year. Plenty of acorns.
Starting to see lots of activity. Im loving this cooler Oct.

Be sure and put this in the picture thread as well.

Gods country for sure. One of the nicest parts of Oklahoma.
I grew up around the Illinois river as a kid. I grew up there and around Tenkiller. Good hunting as well. Not the largest deer but we certianly have quite a few deer.

PS
Watch for bears. That part of Oklahoma is getting quite a few.

I live on Lake Tenkiller. I hunt quite a bit about 5 miles SW of Paradise Hill (Fin-N-Feather) just North of Gore. I hunt all over Cherokee, Sequoyah and Adair counties.

Kerr Magee lands and private soy beans fields around Webber Falls. Your right some decent deer and an occasional good 150class deer.

How about the Sequoyah Nat'l wildlife refuge? I've heard ther are some monsters in there. I talked to guy once that had land that bordered it, he said they take some studs off it every year.

Buddys had a lease in Stigler next to refuge. They harvested some good ones ever year. Thats Ok. hidden secret right there.
