I thought this was pretty cool, so I took some pictures. Not the biggest, but you can't have everything. These two have been hanging around for the last three days. They are about 250 yards from my back door.

Nice location, just a few 100 to 120 lb does in my back pasture at the pear trees, occasionally in the front at the apple trees.

I tried to get some more this morning, but it was snowing so hard you could not see them in the photos. Of course, as soon as the snow let up, they headed out of sight. I am sure they will be back though.
I have seen 4 different bulls now. One 6 point with a broken point, one 5x6, one 4 point, and a 5x2 (antler completely broken off after the 2nd).
I really need to get one of the camera adapters to attach my camera to my spotting scope. I was watching the 5x2 sleep yesterday. It was pretty cool. I'll tell you right now, they do not keep their eyes closed for very long! For as much snow as we are getting this year, they actually look pretty healthy too.

I wish I had Elk in my back yard.
I know not everyone will believe me but I have saw Elk here in Southern WV. We have had some migrate over from Kentucky and there have been a few sightings in the coal fields. If I can find it I have a picture that I took of a small 6 x 6 standing beside a creek next to the main highway. I will look for it and post it. Sad thing is that about 1 week after I took the picture someone Poached it....they did catch him though.
