View Full Version : Why is Elite Using a Two-Track Cam in 2010?

Strother has to change the cams on their 2010 bows to a "new" type of 3 track cam to avoid a lawsuit with Darlington/Bowtech.

Why is Elite not concerned with this? They are using a 2 track cam in 2010. It sounds like they are setting themselves up for a lawsuit. We don't want to see any more drama.

And why did this (Strother cam change) happen so soon after the settlement between Elite/Strother?

Glad I don't have to worry about it.

It's amazing how things work out for those willing to pay for technology that someone else holds patents on.

Strother changed cams after Elite sued them. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. It could have been the results of the lawsuit or it actually could be because they fear a suit from Darton. Who knows?
It really doesn't matter I guess.

Elite did get sued by Darton b/c of the 2-track. Yet, Elite says they will be using the 2-track for 2010. Does this mean they have settled and are paying royalties or whatever to be able to use it? We do not know.
It really doesn't matter I guess.

What matters to me is that Elite has some great people running the show and has great customer service.

Those are good questions that a lot of us would like to know definitive answers to but only people directly involved actually know.

And yes, it really helps it seems if you ask permission to use someone's patented product and are willing to pay the fees. lol
I guess some are just too proud to do that.

Its there bow manufacturing company to do what ever they feel is best for Elite. Do you really think Elite is concerned what happens with Kevin and his dissuasions? Lets just let Elite decide whats best and be happy the 2010 are not far away. I have lots of faith in the new team at Elite will make some great bows in 2010 and in the following years as well. I feel rest assured Elite attorneys can and will give them all the information they need.

Hey Dusty, Is that a trail cam pic in your avatar?

Guess bc dealers are saying it's going to be the same but with mods. And the bows are the same in Z and Gt500 but with addition of one new bow. So my guess if it is true then cams will be like the ones Kevin was going to use on the SA bows two track with mods, and one speed bow like SR71! But guess we will find out in less then a month hopefully!
