Hello my name is Tom and I just signed up on the forum. Been looking at getting an Elite bow real soon. Was wondering what month Elite usually releases their new models for the upcoming year. I really like the Z-28 and an XLR would be awesome too, but don't want to miss out on a newer and better model since it is so close for the new ones to start showing themselves.

Welcome aboard Tom!

The 2010 lineup is supposed to be released in about 45 days.
We do not know what that will consist of b/c PETE HAS NOT GIVEN US ANY SPECS YET.
The Z28 according to those that have shot it is super smooth and easy to draw. There have been reports of people buying bows 10lbs heavier b/c they are that smooth. It is just not fast enough for me though.
The GT500 is really smooth and is also a little faster.

If you can wait 45 days I would do that.

The reason I ask is because I'll be applying to become a shop shooter through Elite Archery and will probably have to be shooting one the latest and greatest bows. I'm pretty excited for the great oppurtunity. I just love the backwall on all of the bows. The GT500 seemed to be a little louder than the other two and the XLR is a great shooting bow. The ATA is just a little bit too long for me though. The Z-28 just felt like the best of the best. I've only got a 27" draw, but do not care for the speed as much as the smoothness. I love the 7 3/4" brace height that they offer with the Z28. All great bows though. My buddy/shop owner shoots a GT500 and he loves it. Another reason why I like this company is that all of their bows are top of the line. It just depends on what the shooter wants. Either way you are getting a top of the line bow.

Tom, hi and welcome to this forum. I also had a hard time deciding which of the models to buy and by shooting the Z-28, GT500 and the XLR all one right after the other...the Z is the one that won it for me. I also liked the generous brace height, quietness, smoothness and solid backwall. I don't know but the Z felt more comfortable shooting. Since I bought it, I am extremely happy that I did. All of their bows were a pleasure to shoot but the Z-28, in my own opinion, is the best of the best.
