Thought this buck was going to put me in the 900 club, but after waiting 60 days for the offical score I missed it by 4/8 of an inch. If he hadn't busted off 1.5 inches of his main beam or the left brow tine that measures 5.5 inches he would have put in in there for sure.I wish I had a chance at him earlier in the year but didn't work out that way!! Still one **** of a buck, 5.5 years old and dressed 219 very happy to harvest him. I was a staff shooter for bowtech and sold my bows on ebay to buy elites!!

THIS IS MY BUDDY THAT SHOWED ME ABOUT ELITE. HE SET UP A SIDE-BY-SIDE SHOOTER TEST WITH ONE OF HIS AND THE SAME OTHER BOW I WAS PLANNING TO BUY. AFTER 3 SHOTS ON EITHER ONE IT WAS A DONE DEAL HE HAS TURNED MANY A WOULD -BE H@#T AND M%^&#@S SHOOTERS ON TO ELITES. THIS IS WHAT ELITE NEEDS IN THE SHOPS, AS TO DATE I HAVE YET TO SEE AN ADD IN A MAG PROMOTING THEM.:thumb:

What was the final score on him?
he ended up scoring 136 5/8 as a six pointer eventhough he broke off 7 inches on antler so thats 14" he does not get credit for. WHO CARES WHAT HIS NET SCORE IS NETS ARE FOR FISH!! IT DOES NOT TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM THIS GREAT DEER. WOULD SHOOT HIM AGAIN IF HE BROKE HIS OTHER BROW OFF. thanks for asking.

I guess when I asked final, I was thinking about the final gross score. I have never been one to pay much attention to the net. I always thought he grew it, he should get credit for it.
I shot one this year that liked to mix it up with the other deer too. He had 6" of his left main beam broken off just after the G3. A lot of people that see it say that it's too bad he had it busted off, but I figure it is still the same deer. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot him again either.
Congrats again on the great deer.

buckethead,
looks like you killed a good buck to congrats!! I agree with you gross is more the real score than net. but net is the one that counts. Kinda like winning the battle but losing the war. Keep up the good work and shoot straight!!

that sure is a nice buck. I like when they have those flexed up necks! It is a shame he busted that point. Mybe you can find it in the woods where you got him.

I agree it's not a recored that makes the trophy but the animal. If you had read the posts I say I was very pleased to have shot him and would do so again if he broke his other brow off. A trophy is in the eye of the beholder. One mans junk is another mans treasure. Any animal taken with a bow is a trophy to me. I still get excited when I shoot a doe and have similar results as stan potts "just give me a second" And if this feeling goes away maybe then it will be time to hang up the ol stick and string. Until then shoot straight!!

oregonbowhunter,
The fence is my front yard not were I was hunting, didn't you see the road also? actually I was on my way out to hunt, heard the screech of tires and then the impact. So I ran out to see this nice buck, and the guy who hit him let me snap a few quick pictures before he loaded him up. Gimme a break!! been trying to teach the ol lady how to take good pics for a while now. She has come along way since the start and did a great job if you ask me. It is really my fault as I set up the picture. It looked good from straight on but as she moved around for other angles to compliment the deers rack. The fence, telephone box and road all seemed to jump in front of her.Maybe I need a better back drop next time. Check out late season e-500 harvest and let me know if I did a better job on that picture. It's a little hard to be in front of the camera and behind the lens at the same time.! Anway I think the ol lady did a great job on the pictures and my hats off to her!! Thanks for pointing out the flaws. We will try not to do it again on the next post.

I'm sorry if that is how my post was taken I meant no disrespect in my post I was just trying to be funny, I guess I failed. I try not to bash anybody especially those that I don't know. I do apologize if I in some way offended either you or your wife.
