I keep looking for an 'Outdoors Forum' here to share my shotgun turkey kills and such but... Anyhow, I guess I'll post this here in the offtopic area.:noidea:
Caught my biggest Blue Cat ever this past weekend!:freakjam: I was using a medium action rod with 10# fireline and this guy chomped down on some cut bait and put up one helluva fight! He's no world record but my eyes were wide:censored2:open when I saw what was on the other end of the line. I cant believe he didnt break the line or run out my spool...it was epic I tell ya.
He's atleast 33" long...

He weighed bare minimum of 16 lbs...part of his tail hung off the states official scale.:D

Caught em on my old bass fishing rig...I cant put into words how totally :censored2: awesome it was! Im hooked.:D

Awsome!!!! Haven't gone catfishing in a few years, I like channel cats better, but they are all fun especially when they are that big.

Nice Cat Cordwood. Now....had you taken him with your bow, you would something to brag about but catching one with a rod and reel is like shooting turkeys with a shotgun!! :spank:
JK bro....Great Fish....and good job landing him on the light tackle!! :2thunbs:

That is a nice one and they are a blast. I caught a blue a few years back on rod and reel that made a state body of water record and received a big fish award from Texas Parks and Wildlife.

:D ...thanks! And you'll be proud to know, I am working on a bowfishing rig. By the end of the summer, I might have the mods change my name to 'doublegiller'!:freakjam:

Naw...I pulled him out of the upper James right at the bottom of the hill from where I live. Ive caught alot of 5-8 lb'ers there but nothing like this. Now the lower James below the fall line...the next world record might come out of there, but I dont eat anything caught out of that filthy water.

There's a slight misconception on how we here in the MIdsouth catch Big Cats... Here's the best way but not really the smartest way to catch Big Cats... lol... Just click on the My Space word....http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=37514154

living in the great white north we have some cat fish. But seeing that most of the fish around here are predators with big teeth ie notherns and muskies, I still get blown away any time I see video or pictures of guy noodle'n. I've watched a muskie take a duck from the surface of the water so you won't find no noodle'n going on up here uhhh uuhhh.

Here's the bad boy Cordwood. I caught this Blue Cat while Speckled Trout fishing in the Colorado River above Matagorda,Texas on artificial bait (queen cocoho white/chartreuse).Same type of bait in picture.http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/rr225/mchildress/100_1489.jpg

Well since Cordwood's relatively small catfish has been upstaged by even the little kids in this thread.....I thought I might go ahead and show the smaller one of two that I caught and released in the St Johns River last month. I had to wear SCUBA gear to make the release and could only get a quick photo of this little one. :)

 ...and ive noodled bigger cats than that...and imo its cheating to use scuba gear. Its like shooting a deer with a rifle...
btw- Where you at?

Gave the brakes a work out on that Calcuta with 10lb Gold Stren. Played about 30 mins. When my buddy got her in the net the handle went to bending and I had to put my rod down and grab the net ring to help get her in the boat. We were fishing speckled trout in the Colorado River just above the Gulf the water is brackish. Thought I had a good Red Fish at first.

Here I thought I was gonna see a real cat, like the one I jumped with my atv last weekend. Biggest tom I have ever seen, bout 50 feet in front of me. Launched out of the deep grass and in two leaps was out of sight into the woods.
