Hi folks I'm fairly new to the Elite archery forum and wanted to let you know a little about myself. I've been involved in archery off and on for about 42 years.(my wife says i'm a little more off than on but thats another story) I've shot in NFAA competitions besides ASA and IBO ,I shot in some FITA back about 4 decades ago. I won the Illinois outdoor aggregate 3 years running besides placing in many 3-d shoots, field competitions and outdoor target . I've also taught and coached a few people to NFAA state titles in 3-d. I was away from archery for about three years due to health reasons (both eyes operated on , left wrist fused ,right knee operated on and right eye operated on a second time) anyway I'm getting a little long winded . So as I said I just wanted to say HI!

Pretty much healed up just trying to get my skills back in line were they they once were. Currently shooting my Bowtechs '04 pro 40 wheely,05 allegiance and my '07 smoked chrome guardian but am very patiently waiting on my new XLR ELITE ,I shot a GT500 and was very impressed with the way it felt in my left hand which has been my main problem since getting back after it was fused not all bows feel good in it.

I'm nobody, but welcome anyway. :)

Sorry to hear about your hand. They found reactive arthritis in me back in '06. It forced me to leave my day job. The bones in my feet were already pretty eaten away by the time I started pulling up lame. They want to start fusing. Not to hijack your welcome thread, but has the fusion helped with whatever it was you were experiencing before hand? Also, what are your limitations now, if I may ask. (I don't want to do something if it is not going to bring relief and/or causes more problems.)

:welcome: Glad to see some practical experience on board, you are still a youngster. I can relate to arthritis, having one knee replaced to date. I have no target/tournament experience personally but I am sure I can learn something from you, again :welcome:.

My left wrist was hurt at work and the pain in it made it weak and sensitive couldn't lift a cup of coffee let alone my bow. I worked with the Doc. even to the point of taking a bow in on a visit to the surgeon to get it in as close to the proper position for shooting. Even though it was off just a couple degrees it's made it a challenge, but I don't give up easy. Besides what I listed before my right hand and wrist were partially fused in the early 90's and in '01 I had a quadruple heart bypass. You set the limitations yourself if you think it will stop you it will if you decide it won't then it won't.When I was 26 I broke three vertebrae in my back and refused the surgery to fuse it .Today I still walk with a limp but can still bend somewhat where with the fusion I wouldn't although I have pain it's worth it to me. Welcome. You have some really great areas to hunt in Canton. I was on the start-up group trying to get Central Illinois Energy up and going in 2007. I really enjoyed the town and hope that all is going well there. I heard the Ethanol plant ended up getting started last year. I would love to hunt that area sometime.
