Thing is I'm thinking I already have one in my Energy. What is going to be better than what I have (besides the cool new camo). I'd like Kevin to chime in here, he might be able to enlighten me. :)

You are buying a refined product. Kevin has taken the best qualities from all of his VooDoo mojo tricks and put them into his 2008 line up. ATA and brace might be close but refined engineering on the riser and cams might make it worth the upgrade.

Do they have the same specs? I'm not too familiar with the 06 models but when I saw that in 08 they were coming out with a 36" AtA with an 8" BH I started to drool. I especially got more excited when Kevin posted today that he shot a 400 gr arrow at 60# with one and registered 282fps. My belief is when you can get a 400 gr arrow to pass 280fps at 60lbs that bow is smokin. I plan on shooting a 405-410gr ACC at 65lbs with a 28.5 draw length when I get mine and should pass 280 as well. I'm sure the draw will be smoother (at least a little bit) than the one you have and it may be a tad faster and quieter. And I agree the G1 camo should look great in person.

I wouldn't do it. You have what you are looking for in a longer ATA, and the new XL will probably not make you shoot any better. All you will have is two bows, that like all of them, will decrease in value every minute you own it. So, keep what you have, enjoy the new bow that is coming, then make a decision later.... you know you want the GTO anyway!

Don't remember the exact specs, the Energy had two brace heights mine is the shorter of the two. The first one came out with an 8 in but mine is closer to 7", ata is around 36". I do know when I first chronoed it with just a d loop and a peep (not tied in), with speed mods it shot a 348 grain arrow 301fps at 61.4 lbs. I hunt with a 400 grain arrow with smooth mods and with bowjax and typical stuff on the string it's shooting around 262. But I agree, 280 with a 400 grain arrow , but then you would lose about 10 fps with the string loaded so it's getting close to what I'm shooting. With smooth mods my is very smooooooth.

No need to sell you then. Sounds like you already have a smooth tack driving machine:cool:

Oh I want the XL alright but there's this thing about six bows hanging on the wall. My wifes kinda just gave up about a year ago and realized that I'm mentally disturbed in this one area. The question came up a lot, "why do you need so many bows". I'm running out of good answers. I'm gonna wait for the GTO and also the Airbornes to see where they fit into all this. I've got my short bow for the year coming I'm gonna buy another 36" bow, just not sure which one will be different enough for me to go for it. Tried the Marquis as well and really liked it, very smooth and fast for a single cam.

Actually no, I have the short bh, 6 1/2. So this cam swap could really happen? Where does one find Envy cams laying around and do you have to change all the strings and stuff.

You have to have an even number, and do what I do when my wife asks that question, ask her why she has so many......?, in my wifes case it is shoes. She must have 200 pair of shoes, so when I ask her that question, she changes the subject.

Whoops my bad, you might be able to get Envy cams from Lorna but Id hurry, and youd need to custom make string/cables, prolly a couple times unless you guess really good.

Problem is she says "my shoes aren't $700 a pair".

This is very tempting, got a friend who just happens to make his own strings.

How long did it take to get her to that point? When I get more than two, I usually keep them in a case, you know...Outa sight, outa mind!

We have no secrets, I make the money she pays the bills. ;) Did you see the guy on AT that claims he bought 18 bows last year and his wife only thinks he has one  Don't know how that happens.

The xl is a sweet looking bow, i like the little reflex that it has. If the new GTO is longer than 34 inches, I may have to go that way though. If not, then the xl will prolly be mine! I have the xt right now, but I like longer bows.
