First shooter and dark target on Javelina. First if all its a dark target in a dark hole. Its going to look farther than it is. I'm aiming center ten being the first shooter.

Wolf in open field with sun on the target. Chances are the sun is going to make it look closer than it is. Always true shooting from woods to open field.(Maybe one of the toughest things to judge in 3d. I'm aiming center ten as well.

We can learn what some of us do when judging targets. Give us your idea when judging these targets

Both targets. You able to see a 12 ring at that distance?

This is not known distance. You would gamble and shoot at the 14ring?

You being the first shooter on a dark target would shoot for the 12 ring on the eleven oclock side?

javalina ...I know the "spot"..I aim High twelvish if i miss I hope to miss in the ten and not the 8

wlf alittle different If that 14 was stickin out like the pic..Id try..otherwise Id use the same theroy for the javi..

Im good a looking at binos..and finding something to help me either on the target or from the surroundings..shade line..branch..lighter areas ...now grabted yardage might make that diffrence on wether I hit ..but the javi..I gothim pegged....

btw shot a 300 even today..2 weeks in a row over 300...:woohoo:..I did miss one 14 for a 5..that always stinks

Always remember when shooting the Javelina. Easy five score if you shoot low. So a 12 shot maybe adding a yard might not be a bad choice. But dont under judge this one. Cost me a shoot down in Paris last year shooting right at the 12 ring.

Congradulations on some fine shooting indoors.

I'm usually lucky to my hand in front of my face  I know where the "spots" are so I just let it rip. Plus I never shoot first

You have to ask yourself many question on both shots. Is it the first or second day? Am I in the running to win? If I am in the middle of the pack, it pays the same as the bottom of the pack. Am I going for a win or just at a local shoot to practice? How am i judging and shooting that day. Is the confidence there? All depends on the pressure of the situation. I personally would am at the 12 on the Javi and if confident in my yardage i would shoot at the 14 on the wolf. If ANY ? on the yardage 12 on the wolf, but then all the other factures mentioned above come in to play.

DB, I shoot at every 12 on every target. If im not sure I add one yard.
the javi has a white line pointing at the 12 on the asa 12 ring so its a no brainer. The 14 is lit-up on the wolf but at that distance im adding a yard and holding on the 12.

KYDIRTBAG, How do you never shoot first. If you shoot 3d your supposed to rotate shooting order.
