OK, since Christine was so gracious in having a freebie giveaway I thought I would start another. This is another "surprise" prize and again nothing huge but hopefully something somebody will enjoy.

If you missed Christine's giveaway here's her surprise: http://www.elitearchery.com/forums/showpost.php?p=176519&postcount=95

So anyway my giveaway is going to consist of three questions, all with an Iowa connection, first one to post all three correct answers in one post wins.

Here we go....

Question 1: This wildlife painting depicts the largest whitetail ever taken by a hunter. Name the artist that painted the painting and the hunter that shot the deer.

http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m18/iowawhitetail/IowaBuck.jpg

Question 2: When and where is the 2009 Iowa deer Classic being held?

Question 3: The following is an excerpt from an article that appeared in a popular bowhunting magazine recently. Name the author.

"I was not a hunter. I grew up playing in the woods behind my parents' house in rural Iowa, but I was not a hunter. As a child, I helped my dad pluck ducks after a fall harvest. As a teen, I often had to park my car in the driveway because a hanging deer had taken my spot in the garage. But I was not a hunter. ...... On October 5, 2007 my status changed."

Good luck!!

OMG I just had beer come out my nose. Thanks L-train. And I know beer coming out of my nose has nothing to do with archery. :buddies:

So does anybody know the answer?

Since someone got it now, thought I'd clarify on the painting.

The artist is correct, he did a painting of the lovstuen buck, but the painting shown is actaully of two bucks seen in des-moines and later found dead(according to the artist's website).

Here is the lovstuen buck painting:http://www.wildlifeexperience.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/Foggy%20Morning%20Whitetail.jpg

I noticed that in all the treestand hunts they were using the Tree Saddle. Does anybody know if G5 is affiliated with the makers of the Tree Saddle?

Just seemed odd that they all would use it unless there was a product tie in. Never used one myself but it would be interesting to try.

Pete and Garret have used Tree Saddles since before they worked at G5. Its a great product. Trust me, my husband wouldn't put someone so accident prone (me), in something that isn't fool proof. I've only hunted from the Tree Saddle. I was in a tree stand once for a photo shoot and didn't like it at all.

Interesting. I wish I had one to try, they're pretty pricey to buy and then not like.

I'll have to ask you guys more about them at the Iowa Deer Classic.
