yeah...can you use it with just the stand itself or do you need there press too?? cause i'm not buying an apple press
i could add in something that is threaded to it to get fine adjustments instead of just that winch it comes with...

I think you can mount it to anything. I don't have one , just seen it in there. I'm gonna make one now that I seen what the other guys are makin in another thread.

i'm gonna use it in a shop(after i get one open) so i was kind of wanting a manufactured one for liability reasons...

I see your point, good luck gettin a shop together. I make arrows and strings and stuff for buddies but I think it wouldn't be so much fun if I had to make a livin at it.

it's not so much for a "living" as it is to fill spare time... which i have a lot of. i have a day job that i won't be quitting until i'm dave's age:eek:
and my wife has a pretty profitable profession... so i get to pick what i want to do to fill the void... and an archery shop is it.

Just PLEASE do not use an Apple press on Elite bows, it puts TOO much stress on the limbs to break the bow down!!!!!!!:eek::eek:
I think Elite will follow PSE on this one, and say that using an Apple press or one with rollers that roll up the limb as you compress the bow will void your Warranty.
This type of press is where splinters on the edge of the limbs come from.
What press do you recommend, Kevin?

I would venture a guess either ELP or xPress by sure-loc

These two will work fine, we use all Sur loc X-presses at the factory.

oh heck no, you couldn't pay me to take one of the Apple Presses. That's why i asked if you could use the draw machine without the press on the stand. i was thinking of getting a HTM Bowsaver Elite. that press shouldn't void the warranty does it???

What about a Hydra type press? will they void the warranty?

That press works like a X press, just be sure the inside rollers are at the end of the riser and the limb rollers at close to the limb fork as possible.

Thanks. I got rid of the rollers and have pins wrapped with foam.

Just to save you some frustration, look at your cams when you use that press on your bow. Press the bow enough to remove the string and check the cam lean, or in this case the limb twist, with an arrow against the cam. I have seen quite a few of the cookie cutter presses with this issue. Yours may not but better safe than sorry.

Yes I already know about that. I used thicker side wall tubes on mine. No twisting. I burned up three drill bits in the drill press making the holes. Thank you for the warning though.

I never thought about it 'til now but I guess a Hooter Shooter could be considered the ultimate draw board. . .maybe. :)
