Since I was on the far south side of Houston tonight I went to a new range to shoot. I have been doing some shoulder exercises lately to help with my consistency so I felt pretty good tonight. I was walking across the target a little less and holding a bit steadier. I went through my normal routine and stretched my arms a bit, put my B-Stinger on and made a couple of practice shots. Everything seemed ok so I started my round. I noticed that I seemed to be shooting a little high but I was kinda blaming it on the new range with different lights and didn't really think too much of it. I kept shooting and got a couple of 10s and a couple of Xs but overall I was shooting high. I went to pull my arrows after the 9th end and as I got back, there were 2 guys checking out my bow hanging on the hook. They were asking me about the bow and the the Limb Driver and then asked me about the sight... OMG! I realized that I didn't move the sight into it's normal position on the slide. I left it slid all the way back so that it's short enough to go in the case. I set my sight to the proper notch on the slider and I shot my last end. The first arrow was way low. (guess I was correcting) I calmed down and my last two shots were 10s.
Final score was 270 2x. I was consistent enough that I think I would have been over 280 tonight for sure if I had been set up right. :kicku:
I will have to shoot later in the week to try to make up for tonight. I just had to laugh at myself.
For you Houston guys, I was at Santa Fe Archery. It's a pretty nice shop with a great range. It was a great place to shoot.
