Have always bowhunted without gloves. Keep them with me but am quick to take them off if something shows up or I hear noise. Never did shoot with them on. I use a light weight (thinsulate) glove that is tight and form fitting from Cabelas. Well this summer switched to a thumb release and a couple of weeks ago thought I'd try and see if it affects my shooting. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I can shoot just as well with my gloves on. Just curious what you guys do.

I shoot with gloves on just fine. Of course its not very cold in Louisiana and my gloves are tight fitting and made of some sort of synthetic material. Cheap Wal-Mart gloves, but they keep my white hands from standing out too much.

No gloves for me. I have been a target archer too long, and don't like to feel around for that perfect anchor point.

Well that's what I thought too, before I tried it. I can feel my anchor fine, I was quite surprised.

No gloves for me! On my bow hand in late season and thats it!
Thin Jersey gloves all season. If it's really cold, I'll take my handwarmer muff and put a couple of hothands inside;)

Yeah, when it's 20 degrees out you can bet I'm wearing gloves. Something warm for my bow hand and something light for my drawing hand. I even cut the first three fingers off a right glove so I can use my shooting glove when I'm hunting with my recurve.

I've got some cool black ones that have a rubber palm to grip better and they are awesome for shooting. See in pic

Looks similar to mine, I've typically used a glove on my bow hand but have never been able to use one with a strap release. Since I switched to a thumb trigger it works great.

I tried out those Under Armour gloves and man I love those things! I can wear them under my wool military liners when it gets real cold if it ever does. Why did they ever put nature in the hands of a woman? It should be Father Nature! :p:D

I kind of stumbled onto the same thing. I put some gloves on and did some shooting last year. I found that I shoot the same with or withot gloves.

For hunting in the winter I have to wear gloves. In the summer for competition I wear real thin ones. I dont like the ones with any rubber or gripping material. I like when I pull back the bow allways slides into my anchor point.

Depends on the day, but I practice with and without gloves on to be ready.

I always use cheap cotton gloves, $3 or $4 a pair. Primarily to camo my hands as I hunt from the ground but they also have the benefit of making it hard to grip the bow. I used to shoot fingers and used them as a shooting glove, better at letting the string slip away than any glove I ever had. They didn't last too long without wearing through on the string, esp. w/ a brass nock, but generally got through fall practice and hunting season. When it gets cold I slip some fleece gloves over the top.

I always wear gloves. When it is worm I wear a pair of thin scent blocker gloves and when it gets cold I wear a pair of polypropylene liners under the scent blocker gloves. I have not had any problems with either combination.

gloves that have a hole so the release can go through before the cuff of the glove goes around your wrist

Personally, cold stiff fingers affect me more than gloves - I have a thin pair of fleece bowhunter gloves and that's usually enough. If it's cold enough, I have a thin pair of Under Armor liner gloves that I put underneath. I can't stand cold hands - years of trying to stay warm in a treestand I guess.

If it's real cold.. I also use the Ice Breaker muff with handwarmers inside.. There's nothing like a nice warm muff :D
