Just wondering what kind of BHs you all are shooting with your elites? Please list your speeds, arrows, toatl weight, and any comments about wether they flew the same as your field tips. I was wanting to go back to fixed blades so I was looking for some suggestions.

After reading alot of favorable comments I ordered a pack of Rage 2 blade heads. I shot them today for the first time. They fly great atop my A/C/C 3-28's out of my 61# Xtreme. Tomorrow I hope to see how well they work on an unsuspecting doe  And they fly right with my field tips.

All was well until I tried the 35yd shot into extremely bright sunlight, just nicked the 'belly' of my Delta deer and hit a rock wall 35yards away. Practice head is history :o

I am a dyed in the wool Thunderhead guy. I have yet to have one not spin balance. The only negative is now the thunderheads weigh about 5 gr. more than advertised. I did try some wasp boss bullets this fall and they flew about as close to a field point as any I have tried.

Forgot to add. The thunderheads that I shoot are 85 gr. and 100gr. both fly great. The wasp boss bullets are 75 gr.. The wasp heads are also a very durable head. I shot one as a practice head with a bunch of different shafts to get the arrow flight I wanted. My target is a single dot on a dirt bank so you can imagine the abuse the head would get. From 275 fps to 316 fps the boss bullets flew like darts on a vast array of weights and lengths of arrow shafts.

Well I know what I'm gonna shoot. Magnus 4 blade Stingers or the Montec. They'll both fly with field points at any speed.

I used the Montec 100's last year and this year. GT 5575 arrows weights 364 and 375 grain arrows 60.5 and 62.7# bows, shooting right at 290 fps.

I was shooting the Slick Tricks out of my 90# Synergy @ 307fps & getting excellent flight. I also shot 85grn. Wac-em's and they shot equally. Total arrow weight is 474 grains.

Isn't that interesting that the 07 Synergy is faster than the 08. What cams are on the 07?

I had a Synergy, now have an Xtreme. The draw on the Synergy was harsher, so I would assume it generated more speed as a result ?

Slick tricks and shuttle T locks have flown great out of my E-500. Speed is 290 fps at 68# with 425 g arrows.

Isn't that interesting that the 07 Synergy is faster than the 08. What cams are on the 07?

The 07 has the k8 cams. One caveat. The 08 has string jax which in my estimation are killing at least 7fps or so. That said the performance diff is negligible if not on par.

The 08 has a more even draw but feels as difficult at 70lbs as the 07. Just for clarity I don't want to confuse draw difficulty with how it loads. The 07 is draw is slightly more lumpy, ie uncomfortable than the 08.

Make no mistake, both feel 5-7 lbs heavier than they are. But they rip speed wise. Arrows that heavy at 300fps is impressive. We're talkin 100gr over IBO. 7gr/lb.

well, actually 6.5 gr/lb if you do the math

I don't have my GTO yet but I used 125 gr. Hellrazors this year with my Guardian set at 65 or 70# and they flew great with 428gr. total, Max. Hunters. I've read some bad reviews about 3 blade penetration lately so I am now going with Silver Flame 125s. Just got some sighted in with My Allegiance set at 73 lbs. shooting 485 gr. Full Metal Jackets shooting 271 ft/sec. That's 0.58 lb.-sec. momentum!

I can't believe more folks don't shoot the head I've been using for the last 5 or so years.
I've killed LOTS of stuff with it including big bulls and it just keeps amazing me every time.
I only started using them because fixed blade heads wouldn't fly at 310 plus fps.
They fly perfectly!
They cut a NASTY hole going IN AND OUT and penetrate amazingly.
Several friends who have tried them have been amazed as well including 2 more big bulls last year!
One of the bulls scored 350"
My mom's arrows would not penetrate good and she lost an elk until last year when she switched to these and blew right thru her cow.
My wife wanted to use them on her deer hunt but I had some other old heads that needed shot up so I wouldn't let her use them.:p
They have recently been copied but the copies aren't as good as the originals.

OK..................

have I kept you in suspense long enough? :D

I cant believe Coozhunter is the only person on here that knows the secret of the Snyper. I have been using them for about 5 years and have never lost an animal with one. My last elk I killed was at 12 yards but he was facing me strait on. I didn't hesitate and got a compleate pass through. he went 20 yards and dropped. I know 3 other guys that have shot elk and got pass throughs lenghtwise and not one lost animal. They penitrate better than any fixed blade or mechanical head on the market. Trust me, you can't beat the Snyper!

This year I used 85g Slick Tricks and they grouped right with my field points.
Last year I used 100g Montecs and they grouped right with my field points.
I had excellent blood with both heads and the only negative I can think of is I couldn't get the Montecs as sharp as I would've liked. I have used the Snypers in the past as well and I will agree that they were great heads as well!

I've been using Muzzy's forever. I like the 4 blade 100's or 90's but went with the 75 gr 3 blade this year for speed purposes. Contrary to what most seem to believe I've not had a problem with fixed blade BH's at speeds over 300 fps. I've shot the Slick Tricks and wasn't impressed. My current set up is as follows: 2007 Elite Synergy, 27" Maxima Hunter 350's w/75 gr Muzzy BH = 356 gr; 28 3/4" DL; at 65# I'm shooting 310 fps. This set up did a fine job on a 142" buck and a nice doe. The Spott Hog Hunter sight makes this setup exceptionally accurate. Oh, I'm using 2" Blazers.

I have been shooting Rage 2 blades with devistating results. But they had problems...... The problem was that they were blowing too big of holes in the animals that there internal organs were coming halfway out and plugging the hole so the blood trail was limited. And yes the shot wasn't very good.

So I will probably make the switch to Rage 3 blades.

The 3blade rage is an awesome head. I actually switched from 2blade to 3blade because i had a bad shot with the 2blade and the hole was actually too large that the intestines clogged the hole and I didn't get a blood trail. They are devistating though.. :duhclap:
