I was at the local range and had a coach check me out. He said to change one thing and then come back. Just seeing if anyone else see's the same thing. It's something I changed from hunting season. Course, I could be doing lots of things wrong, who knows.

I am no expert but when some asks me about there form here at home I like to see the elbow, wrist, arrow all in a straight line.

Scoll to the bottom of this thread on AT.

Yours doesn't look to bad.

Thanks,
Made a couple small adjustments and here's some new pics.

Thanks Michael for all the help! I appreciate it very much. I'll keep working at it.

You look pretty good! The only thing I do differently is to get my release further back so I am not activating it with my finger tip. I get the trigger back just past the first nuckle and pull through the shot with back tension. BTW, Great looking bow! :)

After looking closer at the bottom two pics, trigger finger looks better....Good form!

The bottom two look more relaxed. I agree with BAArcher about the trigger. Im not a instructor but looks good enough to go after Michael for some green backs.:D

The only thing that I can suggest is that you put on the shirt I sent you & get rid of the blank one!:D

Soumi, I am no coach by no means, and I am sure that my form has plenty of flaws in it. If I may make one suggestion it would be trying to shorten your draw. It looks that you are leaning back, by shorten your draw, this will enable your spine to be straight.

I think the second set of plotos he looked pretty relaxed (even had the high falutin pinky extended). Just curious how he has been shooting? The best looking form can crumble on the shot...I'd say from looking at him, he tears up the "X" count indoor.

I am sure this will mean a great deal to Scott to have a shooter of your caliber compliment his form. Oh yeah, and the pinky comment.... FUNNY!!!!!!

Oh please...Thanks for the compliment but I have seen his shop....He is an attention to detail kinda guy. What kind of release is that? I have been getting used to my Carter Quickie 1+ and it takes trigger releases to a new level. I actually like it better then my 2 shot. When I shoot a trigger release, I do not want to feel any trigger movement before it breaks. When I shoot a TRU or Scott, I feel the movement and it gets in my head....bad things happen!

Thanks, that's kind. But you must have me mixed up with someone who actually knows what they're doing. ;)

I never noticed the pinky until you pointed it out. Is that what the pros do? :D

IMO your release elbow is too low, a straight line should run through your release elbow, nock and bow hand wrist. that's where your draw force is.;)

I am by no means an aechery form expert, but I noticed one thing in his form consistantly that I would strive to elliminate without a doubt.
His Elbow is so extented because of his draw length that the inside of the elbow pit is pointing up. I was always coached to have that elbow perpendicular to the ground, that would mean he probably show shorten his draw a little and this would eliminate even more the chance of torque on the bow, especially upward or downward shots. Just my two cents...:D

So Scott...when are you coming back...it's been nearly 12 months:haha:

BTW...your DL does look a lot better and i'm sure your shooting would have improved.

I'm pretty sure I would have also expressed a desire to operate the release with the crease of your finger..not the tip, as has been pointed out by someone else on the post.

Cheers

You are leaning back just slightly and your elbow is not high enough. This denotes too long a DL.
Shorten it 1/2". I think that's what he may have told you.?.?.?

Your body should form a T.

It looks like in second set of pictures you have shortened your draw about a half to one inch. It looks also like you might be shooting alot of weight or you have been holding the bow at full draw for quite a while, by the looks of your purple hand.

Shorten your DL way to long yor head is leaning back, yor nock should be in line with your eye with your body (head) in a natural "T" form. Do that and other parts of your form will naturaly come in to place

Shorten the release 1/2" and your draw 1/2". This will get your release arm elbow up higher. This will stand you up straighter as well. Don't lock your bow arm elbow. Keep your arm straight but unlocked. Your head looks tilted back. Make sure you pay close attention to your feet and the amount of pressure on each foot. The pressure should be equal. Your second set of pics looks better, you are standing a lot straighter.

I'm not a coach but I thought your elbow was supposed to be straight behind your arrow, not left behind your head, or right of the arrow. I can't tell from your pictures exactly where it is. If somebody else knows more please post.
