Why don't you define "They"...
Are you talking about those that set the forum guidelines?
Could it be the folks that want the info postings in the general section not highjacked with meaningless postings?
Last choice would be the few that actually said something as they grew too tired of seeing it happen?

I found enjoyment in most of what I have done but got bored at times so I tried new things. Welding and machining I started learning when I was 7 years old, rebuilding motorcycle and car engines when I was 12. At 15 I started building a T bucket from the ground up including the frame and finished it 2 months after my 16th birthday. I was a power plant engineer in the military but their wasn't any jobs available in that field when I got out (corp of engineer thing). Went to work for a company that built parts for the space shuttles and other satellites for a couple years and got fed up with California so moved back to my roots here in MO.
Went to work for my father who was a brick layer as a labor and after he came to the house one day and seen the brick dog house I built he put me in a improver program until I turned out. All this time I owned a fish market and bait and tackle shop and because of a few friends I sold a little archery equipment. Well my father passed away unexpected and I didn't feel like laying brick any more so I put a little more effort into the shop.
The gunsmithing thing I just got into for a hobby same as building computers.
Archery was doing better then the bait so I closed it and made the archery shop bigger and after the chain stores starting selling fish cheaper than I could I went full time in the archery business. This is the hardest I have had to work to make a living but now after nearly 25 years I won't trade it for less then a few mill where I wouldn't have to work ever again LOL

So to simplify what he just said. He decided to come to the house and ruin a perfectly good hobby by trying to make a living at it.

I started shooting a recurve in 69 and my first compound was a Allen that my stepfather bought me at the coast to coast store. After a couple months with it I found I didn't like the cheap hanger that the wheels attached to so I build new ones and I didn't like how sloppy the wheels were so I machined new ones and but bushings in them. That's when I first started working on bows, I was a problem child with not leaving any thing a lone. I took every thing a part and put it back together and of course some times it never worked again. My bother and I had a race car set and I didn't think my car was fast enough so I went to the library and read books on motor windings and took the mine a part and rewound the stater to make it faster, that's the reason I did the power plant thing in service

My mother tells a story that I could take my bed apart and reassemble it when I was three years old. I guess I've been tinkering with things ever since.
