okay so....

Had the first indoor competition of the year yesterday. I was excited even though I knew I'd be rusty.
WELL
After the first two practice rounds I had a friend help me loosen up my sights so I could move them a hair to the right. I don't have a set of allen wrenches and my husband was on the bottom line so he was up to shoot and I couldnt get his help.
....My friend accidentally loosened the wrong part of the site and the ENTIRE SIGHT fell all the way off and bounced across the floor.......
AHHH!!
We stuck them back on in a total guess position and I was up for the first round of scored shots. Yeaaaah.... a couple ZEROS will really hurt your score.
It was by far my worst score in a looong time. We had a pretty good laugh though and so did the rest of my line as they watched my sights roll across the room.
*shrug* No where to go now but up!

Well look at it this way, You probably had alot more fun just shooting than worrying than if you were fretting about your score the whole round. That is a mistake you'll only make once I bet.

Could you have called equipment failure? If so they should have given you a certain amount of shots to shoot and set your sight.

Well since everyone saw it happen I went ahead and adjusted after the next round. I felt bad but it was pretty obvious when I was about 8 inches high on the first round. I wasn't able to get them just right but I got them a heck of a lot closer than 8 inches.
